It's usually when it's on a machine that I'm not signed in on and I'm too lazy to sign into FB messenger (what the lady and I use), so I just end up taking a pic instead. But mostly pure laziness.

I love when friends/family complain about "not getting advertised speeds" when on the WiFi at home... They don't understand they will never get the advertised speeds on WiFi vs hardwired.

Depends on the advertised speed.
I get about 400mbps on WiFi which is purely a hardware limitation of my AP. If I dumbed down my service to sub 400mbps (300mbps would be the next lower offering) I would be able to obtain my full advertised speeds via wireless.

This is my wifi signal. Just had to get a new router since I was only getting about 1-2 Mbps with the old one. 
This was on wired?
And this on WiFi? How far away from your router are you?
