WASHINGTON, D.C. -- In advance of Tropical Storm Emily moving toward parts of southern Florida this weekend, FEMA is encouraging residents along the Florida and the East Coast to monitor the storm's developing track and get ready for potential heavy rains, wind and other severe weather. While Emily's track over the next few days is still fairly uncertain, according to current forecasts from the National Hurricane Center, Emily could pass near Florida as a tropical storm this weekend.

Morning guys. Nice Dragon vids, k757. Is that the pace we'll be going, slightly spirited? Hard to gauge the speed there.

The first few I was going slower, mostly rolling in 3rd (torque = win) I mostly kept the straights to 35 mph, the corners were an unknown as I was watching the road but can say, the car handled what I was doing with ease. I'll say that the W far out handles the '08 Si that I had. The later videos, I got to about 75% of what it will be like following death_roll.... he's a nut

Really? Is it more that it just can pull its way through the mountains that it feels more confident? I can honestly say that I feel for a FWD car the SI is awesome.

Hopefully I don't puss it too bad on the first run. Should be carving nicely by the end though :D

I started slow and once I got somewhat comfy I got faster.... I normally keeping the car in 2nd as not to run on the brakes a lot and normally doing no more than 40mph....

this is my perception from owning both.
the WRX doesn't push in the corners like the Si at fast speeds. The W just feels planted and I admit that it took me a long time to really take the corners faster (to trust the car). If you listen to the videos, it is rare that the tires make a noise where the Si would have been screeching. Not to say that they won't ever make noise, but you really gotta be moving in the corners

Yeah I'm not a real handling guru but I know exactly what you mean when it's explained like this. Lol

I think the key differences are the low center of gravity (boxer, woot!) of the subaru and the AWD system

(obviously :D)

and tires, the 235 dunlops are much better than the stock 215 michelins on the Si

I hit 70mph in the lgt two years ago on the dragon :woot:

LOL It's funny you say that, when I had the 235s on my SI, I felt a major difference. Gonna go with 225s on the new wheelz.
