Undecided on springs... any help?

Hey guys... I just got my 2012 Civic SI Coupe and I need to lower them. Not slammed but just enough to eliminate the wheel gap. Any recommendations on springs? Ride quality is important for me as well. Thanks
 
I'm sitting on Skunk 2 lowering springs. Ride is good can get a little bumpy at times but I feel like it rides better then stock springs.

That really depends on where one lives and how low they want to go. Snow/salt are not friendly to coilovers if you think you ever want to adjust them.

That being said, I suggest H&R springs. Perfect drop. Great ride quality.

Shocks won't last long with aftermarket springs, unless he will upgrade them as well. There are many ways to prevent your coilovers from corrosion.
 
I think I've seen the most praise / least amount of complaints from h&r springs

Really depends on the spring, but realistically, you would have to replace your shocks at maybe 45,000 miles instead of 50,000. Not really a big deal.
 
couple of users have said they blew their stocks after 8-12k miles on aftermarket springs. Not that it's the norm, but it can happen
 
My usual suggestion is if you were planning to own the car more than a year after the spring install get upgraded struts like KYB or simple coils like Megan which is one of the cheaper coil brands almost equal to springs and strut replacement.

Stock shocks will never last 50K miles on lowering springs.
 
Also springs like Skunk2 or D2 that lower your car 2 inches will decrease the life of stock shocks even more.

Does anyone make an aftermarket/upgraded strut for the 9th gen yet?
 
I'm definitely planning to keep the car for a while. I've heard good things about h&r springs.
