how are they scamming?
You get crowds of people running up to you claiming they can get you a Taxi or Shuttle to your resort. Also people in the street trying to con you into buying crap or fake excursions. Legitimate services warn you about them. The DR was nowhere near as bad.

AH, well i using uber when i get there. apprently a taxi ride to where we're going is over 100 usd. but uber is like 30 or 40 usd. but we do have to walk across the street to use an uber as they arent allowed at the air port. i also dont buy crap off the streets. i wish i could speak spanish. i really need to get on that.

Uber Drivers weren’t allowed past the gates at our Resort in the DR so we had to walk about a mile to get picked up. Wasn’t a deal breaker. The Driver told us that the reason it’s so much more relaxed than Mexico is because they count on the tourist income to keep advancing. Said if someone is caught harassing tourists they’re punished to the fullest extent of the law.

i feel like its also safer to take an uber since they need to keep good rating to keep their jobs. a taxi doesnt care.

IE: Like the travel agent told us for this trip

"Look for the Amstar representatives that will be in the blue Hawaiian shirts"

I didn't pay for our seats to Mexico, just checked our booking and they assigned us together. Saved over $100. Cheap dad wins. Flight back isn't assigned though. Kids might have to sit without us.

After randomly getting an aisle seat one trip I can’t fly without one. That extra legroom is the best.
I like the isle too. Mostly because I don't have to bug anyone when I need to use the washroom.

If we can't get seats together on the way back I'll just tell my kids to start coughing a lot and make the people next to them want to switch seats.

I like the aisle seat and the wife likes the window seat….so works out for us. We do try to get the emergency exit fox for the extra leg room. Would pay a little extra for it.
