In-law bought one for Canadian Thanksgiving we never made. Smoked it on the Weber kettle. Turned out great.

I know you mentioned being hard on cutting boards. If you want to bring them back to life, block bacteria etc, you can use food grade mineral oil to recondition them, your wooden spoons or anything else similar. Some grocery stores carry it as well, but look for something like this - mineral oil

Man. I am too lazy for any of that. Just but a new board or enjoy the wood chips.
