i have an over the head over noise cancelling logitech set, but its uncomfortable, squeezes too hard, only for short uses.. also have behind the neck logitech set wich is actually quite comfy, also charges by a Micro-USB which makes it alot easier, also since its newer, seems to have good sound quality and goes anywhere in the house... but honestly neither really compare to my corsair over the ear headphones... hope this helps .... :)

OK!! Why did it take me so long to find this thread!! Cars not my wheelhouse feel like a nubers.. now computers I feel right at home.. Will post some pictures hopefully tonight when I get home.

Can't wait to read this thread from start to finish when not at work.

OK no pictures yet.. Desk is a disaster storm.. and apparently I found a new project this weekend cleaning my computer / dedust

Specs:
i-5 2500k @ 4.5Ghz 1.35v ... Runs Stable when I need heavy work to be done... usually ran at stock 3.3ghz
Hard drives:
1x Velociraptor 10,000 rpm @ 600GB
2x Samsung EcoGreen F4 (2010 before they were made into crap) 2TB each
Screens:
2x 23inch HD monitors (Hannspree/Acer) if you want monitors Hannspree are great for pice
GPU:
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti Over CLocked 1000MHz core and 2149MHz (stable after 4 hours of FurMark)
I want to buy another and go SLI.. but have not had the need with games or photo editing.. maybe one day I will have to.. Great bang for you buck with this card and stable.
Memory:
Patriot 16GB PC3-8500 @ 533 MHz (no overclocking)

Running Windows 64 bit

My 'desktop' if you could call it that is a small Zotac mini-PC hooked up to my 42" LG plasma. It's running Ubuntu 10.04, and mainly use it for music and movie playback via XBMC. The Zotac MAG HD-ND-01 has an ATOM/Nvidia ION combo that is low power and has enough horsepower for my needs. Running BR rips the processor usage rarely goes above 20%, @ 1360 x 768 resolution and 24 bit color depth.

Nice thing is that LG supports 1-1 pixel mapping and has no overscan. My icons are set so I can read everything across the room quite fine. Audio is fed out via both the HDMI cable as well as the optical cable.

Laptop is an Acer Aspire TimelineX Intel core i3-2310M processor, and I have both Ubuntu and Windows as a dual boot. Unfortunately screen dimming is not supported for Ubuntu, so it turns into a really hot running battery hog. With Win7, I still get 6-7 hours of battery life browsing the internet.

I also have Firefox sync'd so that all my bookmarks, tabs etc are consistent on the Zotac MAG net-top box, my laptop and my Samsung Galaxy Player, as well as Dropbox installed on all 3. It's nice being able to just pick up a device and have content sync'd. :D

Anyone know a good way to wireless hookup from pc to tv? I hate cords and having a hdmi from computer to tv sucks.. plus all my good stuff is on my computer in my office.

For $200+ you can get a wireless HDMI box. Keep in mind the max throughput on HDMI is 10.2 gigabit/sec which is pretty intense.

hm, was wondering if could get some help maybe? i have an asus n61jq (the one thats discontinued and was $1k+) and its pretty fcken awesome laptop (given it is an i7) but the battery life and among other things are horrid. i got iy the summer before my freshman year of college 2010 and everything was honky dori but the battery life was starting to die down very quickly. did a little research and these things have the worst battery ever. so i was thinking of of getting a new battery, did a little research, even after the battery replacements these things still suck ***. so im in the market for a new laptop and was hoping you nerds (=P) would help me out.

looking for something with
-good battery life
-backlit keyboard
-above average processor
-average to above average graphics
-fast start up would be nice
-doesnt run hot

Maybe you can try Ultrabook. Intel got a pretty good built in graphic. I think GMA4000. CPU is good. Battery last about forever. With SSD, it will starts in seconds. Never run hot.
