boot retainer that black piece that was on the bottom of the stock one is what that is. I bought one with my abram

You have to remove the black nut they gave you and reuse the stock one.

I was just hoping there was another way because that retainer is long and makes the knob sit too high

If you want to keep the ball at the same ht....... Do you have a problem with the top of the boot settling lower on the shaft ? As long as it looks neat ?
If that's ok then undo the boot from the bottom so you can pull the boot up like a ice cream cone, then tie the top part as tight as possible so when you flip it down it will be tied above the boots clip(then the clip won't show)....... I buy some para-cord(small) to tie it with.

Very light tint, people dont actuallly notice unless i tell them. I love it, makes the red to a more deep, blood red.
