Sorry to hear about your friend passing, that would probably cause me to reevaluate riding as well. It's a risk for sure.

Sorry about your good friend jnastii. I have also lost friends (fellow riders) to motorcycle collisions.

It's one of the constant thoughts in every rider's mind. Worse yet are the (little or no) repurcusions that drivers, who've struck motorcyclists, rarely suffer. It's almost as though hitting and maming/killing a rider is perfectly acceptable. How could that (alone) not be discouraging to any rider? :(

I don't have any really good pictures of it. I'm probably gonna sell it, put the money into the car, then go get a Streetfighter 848. I rode a Ducati Hypermotard last night and I have never ridden anything as awesome in every way, and I've ridden a few bikes.

Dragged the rust bucket out of the snowbank today...it was a little chilly @45 degrees, but still ended up riding a little over a hundred miles.

It has been nice to be able to ride a few times in the last while... should only get better as the season really gets going :)

New to the bike thing...

Here is my "practice" bike (1982 250cc Yamaha) and my new-to-me "big girl" bike that I bought on the weekend (2009 GSX-R600). Very excited to get some better weather so I can actually use it! I only have my beginners at the moment... taking the safety and licensing course in May.

Be careful.. that's a very powerful bike you've got there!
Oh I know! I'm taking my time with the switch over from the 250 to the 600 (I didn't even dare do the test drive myself, I had my dad do it). It will be an adjustment for sure and I would rather that I, and my pretty little bike, all stay in one piece!

Sounds good. You've got some lovely terrain out your way to enjoy... loved riding through Maine. Some longer day trips out to Cape Breton can have some rewarding riding too.

^ Maine has some absolutely beautiful motorcycle riding for sure.

Got mine all ready for the summer last week. Installed a new 180/55/17 ContiMotion on the rear and changed the engine oil and primary oil with 20w50 Mobil 1 V-Twin.

Rode to work today, was a VERY cold ride this morning!
