Hey guys, so i drove around in dubs during the winter and had an absolute slammed gli vr6 and then went to a 1.8t on coils. during that time i spent a lot of time on the vw forums and if you learn one thing there, its that there is a proper way to lower a car. The mk4 jetta which covers the years of 1999-2005 requires a frame notch, control arm notch, possible motor mount spacers, and in some cases raxles to try to prevent the axles seizing up. I experienced a blown cv joint and i wasnt even low enough to need a frame notch, however i did hit the control arms on the sub frame when i hit a big enough bump...

my question is are there any things anyone has experienced with your lowered 9th gens? iv been low for a while and havent had any issues but i recently started getting somewhat of a vibration in the front end when i go into and come out of a turn in gear. My worst fear is that my axles are acting up because of how low i am, but i only have 20k and only about 7k of that is lowered.

How long have you guys been lowered and have you had any problems?

and anyone thats spent a decent amount of time looking at suspension components have any input?

i have yet to get an alignment because i recently installed coilovers once again and have only been driving for a few hundred miles while i get the ride height where i want it so this could be a part of the vibrations.

thanks in advance.

sometimes I don't understand why some people lower their cars too much. OP, how much did you lower your car?
my car is maxed out in the rear on megan ez streets without taking out the perches and the fronts are tucked with less than a quarter inch before they will rub when i turn. keep in mind this is on stock wheels. i have yet to put up a picture of my car on the forum besides the one to the left of this post which is extremely out dated. ill make a build thread someday

My car lower on Megan Street Series and no problem at all. But If I put 3 or 4 people in my car it would scrape the exhaust pipe on my drive way or bump.
I got Magnaflow performance exhaust.
