You're just asking for trouble with crazy numbers like that. Then again I wasn't there so I'm basing it off stuff I've seen elsewhere. I followed those meets pretty closely though.

Seems like our attendance will be down slightly this year, I'm thinking a smaller group would be better.

I still get nightmares from 8ccdIV and V where there were like 60 cars and quite a few close moments.

4 was enough for me to say enough and I didn't even go to 5.... Too many people and too many close calls

We had almost 100 cars at Rock the Dragon 2014 with no incidents at all. A lot depends on making sure everyone knows the rules and obeys them. It's not easy handling a crowd that big without having a couple of people helping but it can be done (just be prepared to have some people call you names :D).

You can't fix stupid thou.... My issue was people running no catalytic converters and thinking a LX was slow.... I spent most of 4 at the lodge cause I either had a massive vomit inducing headache from the fumes or I didn't want to deal with idiots who thought cause they have a SI they are racing gods....

(Stupid has a way of fixing itself. Darwin rules! :) ). I agree. We have a rule about people not running cats...back of the line and stay there. People with asthma (me) and people who would prefer not getting gassed in the front. Unfortunately, the a$$hats aren't just in Si's, they're everywhere. There is strong peer pressure in the S2000 Dragon community that keeps that kind of behavior somewhat under control (also that I'm a mean old phart doesn't hurt). Is there a drivers meeting before Dragon runs where everyone is told the rules and the punishment for not obeying them? Are the rules clear and consistently enforced? We have one consistent rule which is: STAY OFF THE YELLOW LINE!. People who deliberately and consistently disobey that rule are asked to leave.
I wrote this a couple of years ago and its posted on S2KI.com:

It's not fear. You want to respect the Dragon. The road doesn't care who you are or what you do the other 51 weeks of the year. The Dragon is the Dragon. It's a beautiful road, it has no feelings. It treats you the same way it treats anyone else. It ignores you. The only person who determines what happens is you. Drive with respect. Respect for your personal limits, respect for the car, respect for other people on the Dragon. That's all that's required.

Those are my personal rules to drive the Dragon by.

In the 8th group it was 90% si's so that's where I was coming from with the meet, but yes there a people in all groups that are idiots... I talked to a few people and the person in charge but no one listene/ cared... One if the reasons why don't deal with 8th anymore...

I tell people all the time, the dragon and surrounding roads are not a laughing matter and should be taken seriously the road will bite you if you don't give it the respect it has garnished..

I thought the S2k meet is 09/11 to 09/14?

That means they won't be there on our weekend. Right?
The white one?
Yeah it is. I'm the organizer and I messed up the dates. Too bad, I wanted to meet the 9th Gen crew.

@kgf3076 We moved our meet to the 3rd weekend of September, usually it was the 2nd week but the one bike rally was always that weekend and seemed to be getting bigger each year. @k757 and @SpartanML went the 3rd weekend last year and said the area was like a ghost town in comparison to the previous weekend.

Plus, it gives some of us an extra week to prepare.

It was glorious to not have to share the roads with a bike group.

That's why we moved to the second week. (And the cloggers (dancers, not organic speedbumps) were there).

We (S2k people) call them organic speedbumps.
