Survey from American Honda

So recently (like 2 days ago) American Honda called me (not the dealership) and asked me to take a survey. Basically asked how the sale went at the dealership I went to and other customer satisfaction questions. I really didn't have anything bad to say and gave really good marks. Then the next day my salesman called me and thanked me for the high marks that I gave him. Looks like it wasn't as anonymous as I though it was.

Did any of you guys get called?

A post purchase survey is standard operating procedure for Honda dealers.

I've always been called by Honda after a purchase. I've even had salesman basically bribe me for high scores. "How about we do this and this price if you agree to give all high scores on your survey" type of thing.

I never got a call, I haven't heard anything from Honda or the dealer since I left with it.

I've always had the survey as well. I wouldn't say the salesperson bribed me to give good feedback but they do ask if there is anything they can resolve before I leave the dealership to ensure they get good marks.

I'm sure Honda gets back to them good or bad.

The salesman actually told me to call him back if I wanted accessories at his "employee price" and a free car wash the next time I come in. Since salespeople come and go, I better get on it

You remain anonymous. Unless you were the only person to buy a car in the last 30 days or so, the dealership has no idea who answered the survey. The answers are aggregated for overall results. If you mentioned the name of your salesman, it's not difficult for him to look back over the last 10 days or so and call everybody he sold a car to and thank them.

This is quite common nowadays, Mazda does this as well.

It's legitimately for Honda. It seems sketchy but they get the info from the dealer when you buy the car and pass all the analysis on to corporate.
