I rather have them concentrate on the NSX replacement instead of them trying to satisfy us with an introductory sports coupe; they should delegate that proposal to HOA.

LOL, I'd rather them work on something that I could afford in this lifetime. I'm tired of buying Hondas, I want there to be Acura's that I both want and can afford.

they'd probably sell more cars in the rsx price range, than just focusing on the nsx. The nsx wouldn't be a high production car. From 1990-2005, they supposedly sold around 10k total nsx's in north america. Compare that to around 150k Rsx's supposedly made

I remember driving the first gen tsx. Nowhere near as big as the current model

It's all still Honda. :shrugs:

I agree, but I just don't see the practicality behind introducing a new model when there is a perfectly good platform available that can be modified into a coupe. It would be more economical for Acura, wouldn't it? I don't think the current TSX price range is unreasonable for what is considered to be a luxury brand. Of course an NSX replacement wouldn't be a high production car, just like any other high priced flagship. I think the main concern going around in Acura's head is if they could sell all their introductory units.

Seems like we're going back to our roots of big boat cars.

there was an article not long ago talking about how fat everyone is getting in the US, and to accomodate this, automakers are building larger and larger seats and vehicles

You should see the dimensional difference between the USDM Odyssey and the one offered in China. It's considerable.

I understand it not making a ton of sense, unless the new sedan/coupe have a shorter wheelbase, and smaller overall size. It sounds like they want a civic-ish sized car on the acura brand. The tsx is currently a decent jump.

Talking about car size... I actually considered trading my Si for a new S2K (2008). That is, until I took the S out for a romp. It was a great performance car, but my 6'1" 210 pound body did not feel comfortable in the driver's seat. Additionally, the lack of on-board storage volume was a deal breaker.

I remember taking an MG Midget out for a test spin in the late 70's. That car was even smaller.

It's funny how things can work out for a car brand. Get rid of the Integra/RSX because it wasn't making sales; now, six model years later, making tentative plans to bring it back because Acura thinks it's needed. Their whole aspiration not too long ago was to become a more high-end/luxury concentrated product, but now it seems they may be heading more towards an inclusive philosophy.

Swapping in an aftermarket bucket could have allotted some more room, but your 'vette is just as swell :)

It looked like this exactly like this one, except being left hand steer.

I remember how the top of the windshield frame was even with my eyes, and the top of my head made a bump in the cloth top. :giggle:

What a beautiful sports car though.
