High beam HID

I'm looking to upgrade my headlights but want to run both low and high HID. Is it possible to upgrade the high bulb even though it's the DRL as well? Also is there a certain brand to run with?? I used DDM in the past but its been awhile. Thanks for the help!

Its not recommended to run HIDs as the high beam since HID bulbs need a few seconds to warm up and trying to flash your highs, if needed, won't work very well with the HID bulb. Also the DRL circuit runs at half watt/voltage so you would have to pull your DRL fuse and run with the high beams on or off all the time. You can't run HID bulbs at half wattage.

So yes, you can but eh, you lose your ability to flash and no DRL.

Leave em alone or just get upgraded bulbs. Are you looking for more light output or just to change the appearance? An LED bulb may be a better option than an HID setup but they generally don't have enough light output to be used for driving. Just an appearance upgrade with those.

I'm looking for more output for sure. I had a Jeep Wrangler with led headlights and loved them. I had an 08 civic with HID's I liked. Basically looking for more output and more white in color.

nix posted a solution. Pull your daytime running light fuse & run the hids in the highs. You just won't have a daytime running light, and you can use hids in the high beams. It's just not good to flip them on/off fast or flash them, as it takes a few seconds for the bulbs to fully ignite and produce full output.

I heard that when you pull the fuse it will display a light on the dash.. Is that true?

I have HIDs for my high and low beams as well as my fog lights. I just ended up turning my lights on all the time during the day so it was my low beams on. Actually I barely use my high beams at night anyways since my fog lights seem to put out more light

It's not cheap, but 1410 lumens is pretty bright. I've bought all my bulbs from them (all led interior, license plate, and XML2 fog light bulbs). Amazing customer service. I actually just spoke to a representative all week about these bulbs and he assured me they are bright.
