My friends and I are really debating to make my LX look like an SI, Is it wrong? Should we even bother cause it's not an SI

To each his own. It is your car and you are the one paying the bills. Do whatever you want to make yourself happy.

Mine is also a LX. But it looks like and better than a Si. For me, it's unique. Some people asked, "Is yours a Si?". If there are a few civic, I know which one is mine.

Don't put SI badges on it and you're fine as far as I'm concerned. Don't try to pass it off as an SI instead of a modded Civic that you like. Same with swapping parts to deliberately make it look like one. If it happens to turn out nice, then that's cool. Fakery on purpose isn't.

^ I'd echo not placing "si" badges on your car. Nothing wrong with swapping parts and upgrading things though. A number of r18 owners have a lot of mods.

r18 owners who won ride of the month as well -

http://9thcivic.com/forum/threads/9thcivic-ride-of-the-month-february-2015-winner.12904/
and so on

you'd probably laugh at the number of si owners who remove all of their SI stickers/emblems/grills to hide the fact they own a SI. Example -

do what you want, but I wouldn't put Si badges on the car

My doc stickers have been removed also. IMO the car looks so much nicer without all of the badges and stickers.
@ron v I took the front Si badge off of my '14 coupe.
I thought it was moulded right into the grill itself but my son noticed that the red Si is actually stuck on. When you remove it, you are left with a ghost image of the Si on the Black grill. You can still see where the Si goes on the grill but from a distance it all looks Black and blends in.
Not sure what year your car is, I know that some models/years just had the front Si badge screwed onto the grill from the back, others were stuck onto a moulded spot on the grill like mine.

The black piece is actually held on by two screws on the back side of the grill.
No it's not smartie pants.
I've had a 2012 Si and now I have a 2014 Si.
On my '12, yes the Si was just screwed on to the grill from the back. (just like yours)
On my '14 the spot where the Si sits is moulded right into the grill as you can see in the picture.
