Care for painted rims

I don't remember owning a vehicle which came with painted rims before. Our new Civics come with painted wheels. Just curious about what you folks are using to clean these things up nicely. I've got some stuff out in the garage that I used on my old Town and Country's rims, but they were not painted. I have yet to look at the directions on the product to see if can be used on painted rims, but still, was wondering what you are using.

I clean mine once a week with meguire's basic car wash soap, which works well to limit the buildup and duration of exposure to brake dust. I apply a good wax less frequently to further protect the paint. This frequency of cleaning prevents the need to use harsher cleaning methods.

Regardless, an errant rock or other road shrapnel will innevitably damage the wheel.

Well now, that just makes sense. One of those "DUH" moments for me, I guess.

However, the brake dust does complicate the matter just a bit. And the road grime is a little more concentrated down there. Yeah, that's it.

I remember seeing a video where someone used peanut butter on some nasty wheels, and with some success I believe. I'll see if I can find it.
