Is this the 2013 Civic In Camouflage?

Don't know what the Asian market is offering, and that car on top doesn't seem to look any different other than the lower dip in the bumper, but in any case. My ex coworker was at the place I work today and he's a dealer at the Staten Island Honda here in Staten Island, NY. He told me he test drove the prototype 2013 Si and it was a Paddle shifter model. That right there scared me, I was like "are you sure you were driving an Si Civc" He's like "yeah dude, I like your car when you first pulled up with it, so when I saw them offering it at the dealership to test drive, I signed up and I don't know how to drive stick, it even had paddle shifters". So that felt like, holy **** they're offering an Si Civic in automatic now, but from what he described it as, it's still fun to drive. I personally wouldn't buy the auto version, paddle shift or not, that's just not a manual to me without a clutch pedal and a gear shifter. But I'm sure they'll continue to offer the manual version regardless. He also says it had a hood scoop (cold air intake I assume). I'll be going to check it out tomorrow...well today since it's like almost 5 am. I'll take some pics if they still have it on the showroom floor and post it here or as a new thread. So keep your eyes peeled for 2013 Si pics. If I don't see it there, I guess I'm screwed, or maybe I'll get my buddy to take the pics if he can get access to that car again. But regardless if it's any "cooler" looking that the '12 Si, I still love my '12 sedan, my neighbor got himself an Orange one a week ago, guess he got sick of staring at my car and got one for himself. Does look pretty sleek in Orange, I can take some pics if anyone wants to see how it looks in orange. It's a sedan too. I've only seen 2 '12 Si coupes so far, 1 red and 1 black, and about 1 of each color in sedan versions except blue and silver.

Paddle shifter?

Yes paddle shifters, only problem it was a false alarm on the civic, I knew it would be awkward for an Si civic to have paddle shifters, it turned out to be a CRZ-Si which is the US variant of the original JDM concept CRZ TypeR minus the antenna spoiler. My buddy's not very big car enthusiast thus the confusion between models. Although a CRZ is based on the CRX which at heart is a civic, only lighter.

I'll be going to the bay ridge show room to see if it's still there since this crz si concept is being moved to a different showroom every few days apparently. Maybe you'll see it at a local Honda showroom at some point, not sure which dear ships will get to test it and display it, but Honda of staten island was one of them and from what my friend said, it's very likely at the Brooklyn bay ridge Honda showroom at the moment (I'll be inquiring on that in a bit, think I'll call first before attempting another emtyhanded trip to a dealership looking like a jackass). If I do wind up going there to check it out, I'll def takes some pics and post or make them available privately if it's a big deal to post them here publicly as webby mentioned in one of these threads. Please don't grill me of I have pics, I'm not here to tease and misinform anyone, I appologize for the misinformation I was told a couple days ago, the crz si was moved from the showroom prior to my visit to staten island Honda showroom, so lots of big eyes and puzzled faced were looking at me when I insisted that one of their employees tested the 2013 civic si concept. I bet if I knew it was a crz concept they'd point me on where to find it. Actually now that I think of it, I should call Honda of staten island to track down where this model was presented next. I'll get back when I find out what's up if anyone's still interested even though it's bit of a turn around news at this point.

i believe the 2013 will look more like the ROW (rest of the world) version with more aggressive front bumper & restyle headlights & tail lights & front grill

2013 Honda Civic Spotted In Ohio???

click for larger version

Chad Davis snapped a pic of this white Honda Civic in Ohio yesterday. If you look close, the car is wearing Honda R&D license plates. As you can see, it's also been taped up as if to hide something. This naturally leads one to conclude that we could be getting an early look at the revised 2013 9th generation Civic, which is expected to be available this Fall.

Spot any differences?

......so I'm looking at this civic and I think I see a couple of things there - first, the brow over the top of the dash (with the i-mid and all) appears to curve at it's outer right side. Secondly, and it doesn't mean diddly, the recesses behind the door pulls appear to be rounder in the photo. And a question - there's a small black square showing on the dash (visible just to the right of the passenger B pillar - thoughts?

not quite the same angle of pic, but I'm not sure if the imid area is really different. If you put your hand up on this image to block off the seats and the lower part of the image, it looks pretty similar?

From a design and manufacturing standpoint I would find it very difficult to believe the car will change much beyond simple bolt on/material swap out changes. They simply haven't had time to do anything more drastic than a new bumper, new tweaked headlights using the same basic shape, or a few material swaps on the interior. I appreciate that Honda has been quick to respond the early criticisms, though as a 2012 owner obviously I'm upset that I won't have the "newest" looking civic. Given my theory that changes will be relatively mild I have to assume that new parts will fit on our civics rather easily. Worse comes to worse, we can probably buy the new parts and sell the old ones.

Don't know where the poster here gets his information, aside from assuming he has a position within Honda that allows him the privilege of the information but... seems like there could be some displeased '12 owners if all he says is true. Especially RE: the sedan... Like I said before no one will know until it's officially revealed but the speculation is out there.

Looks like Honda really stepped up.......As I posted before, the DX will be dropped, the LX will be the value leader with all the new Accord stuff,Back up camera in every model, bluetooth revised interior, new hood, head lights/grill and tail lights and some other mods, but the seats, dash and over all quality of the inside has gone from 3 to a 9 on the 1-10 scale..........Looks like Honda really stepped up this time and did it right.......

New hood.......tail lights and head lights/grill. The coupe has little or no chances out side, just inside.........

Having just gotten my 2012 Civic Coupe, I got a phone call survey from Honda, and when they me how I liked the interior I said I liked it, and their response sounded of surprise. I actually like the not so plush interior, and car and tyre/road sounds. I don't want to be closed off from hearing what's going on while I'm driving it, in case there's something that's trying to alert me though sound, and it's in MHO not that noisy. Also there could be a wt. concern that directed them in this direction(or to be cheaper. Which do we really know).
Like was mentioned I like the looks a feel of this 2012 and if they come out with something better looking, so be it, that seems to happen almost all the time that's marketing.
They did a lot of changes in the Jeep Wrangler since my 94 that I traded for my Coupe, and I was never tired of it for the last 18 years. (just the lack of air conditioning, and variable wipers).

I honestly could care less about the "newer" features...sure its a nice convenience to have a back up cam and better interior..but i really do love my interior, like it better than the 8thgen. I get compliments all the time about my i-MID, they think its pretty cool. But like you said until the details are officially available then we'll know what changes they did..
