Cooling Plate removed for 9th Gen?

I noticed in old pictures of the 8th gen engine bays a lot of guys had a piece of plastic that sat over their radiator

IE:

While I understand that Carbon Fiber one is aftermarket, did the 8th gen come with some plastic version of that?

Makes the engine bay look so much cleaner...some of the little cheap-outs Honda decides on kind of bug me.

I mean I see what you're saying, and I'm sure mechanics appreciate one less step but for people who like a clean engine bay it just doesn't look as nice.

Does anyone make one for the 9th gen Civic?

Yospeed do you have the capability and/or interest to make one? I'm not sure if you can make thin metal parts, as this would need to be.

it would be kinda cool if the coupe came with a cover it just makes things look alil cleaner i thought about trying to make somthing out of either aluminum or plexiglass but just havent had the time to really think things through

That metal one looks to be a stamped part...like off of a mold. That'd be an expensive piece to have manufactured.

Those are functional as well aren't they?. I thought they were used to keep the air going through the radiator as opposed to going around it.

trustdestruction I'm afraid I've got a full plate for the next few months, so this isn't something I can take on right now. Awesome idea though!
