Amazon’s Tablet: The iPad’s Biggest Threat

You can pickup a laptop for less than an iPad and you can obviously do more with a full blown computer. Storage space alone, it's not even comparable. Full blown keyboard, full operating system, USB ports, ability to print, larger screen, ..list goes on.

I have played with a kindle fire at length. Someone I work with has one. First tablet I would consider buying. The price is really what does it. $199. F. Yeah.

I hate tablets.

I am surprised I like this thing.

For a cheap internet/entertainment doo-dad I like it. I wouldn't buy an ipad cause of cost.

For $500 range I would get a full blown laptop.

It feels quick and I like the size. Its easy for me to hold and its not too big not too small.

Actual competition for the iPad is a good thing.. it'll be very interesting to see what the iPad 3 brings to the table.

quite a few reports of higher res screens - similar to the iphone 4/4s screens. Other hardware tweaks, but the retina display is the biggest update I've read. They're reportedly already in production.

I bought one for my wife for christmas and she loves hers. I liked the Ipad but it was out of my price range.
