funny article popped up - talking about ski resorts just now -

Vail Resorts Struggles With Snowless Season

Vail Resorts Inc. (MTN) shares have fallen 13 percent since Dec. 23 as major ski trails were closed at the company’s mountain properties in the western U.S. because of a lack of snow.
Visitors to the company’s resorts were down 15.3 percent compared to this time last year, Rob Katz, chief executive of the Broomfield, Colorado-based company, said in a statement.

Lift ticket revenue was up 0.6 percent and revenue from ski school was up 0.9 percent, even though “very unusual” weather had reduced skier visits and the use of season passes, he said.
“For the first time in 30 years, a lack of snow has not allowed us to open the back bowls in Vail as of January 6, 2012 and, for the first time since the late 1800s it did not snow at all in Tahoe in December,” Katz said in the statement.

Shares of the Broomfield, Colorado-based company were trading at $38.96 at 12:03 p.m. today in New York after closing at $45.11 on Dec. 23. Nationally, about 16.3 percent of the U.S. is covered by snow, compared to about 44.9 percent at this time last year, according to the National Weather Service. Ski resorts in Europe have also suffered from lack of snow, leading to the cancellation of World Cup skiing events such as one scheduled for Munich on New Year’s Day.

Vail Resorts operates ski resorts including Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge and Keystone inColorado; Heavenly and North Star in the Lake Tahoe area of California and Nevada, along with the Grand Teton Lodge Co. in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Katz said the company was not revising earnings issued in September 2011, though it “would acknowledge that those targets will be more difficult to achieve given the results over the holidays.”

We've got about a foot and a half of snow up here - with about that much more on the way this week. Drove through some pretty wild conditions on friday night/saturday morning. Very glad I've got these tires on.

How did they get footage from both the car and then the truck? Does everyone over there own a gopro and cam every drive and then post it to you tube?

Wow...update on the car driving in the median::

The man who captured the video, Shawn Lucas, thought the driver was trying to evade police, but it turns out the 61-year-old woman behind the wheel of the Kia was likely having a diabetic emergency.

Before this video was taken, she had driven onto and stopped on the median, and other drivers pulled over to play Good Samaritan and push her off. While they were pushing, she sped off again, which is when Lucas began to record her (he apparently was unaware of the driver's medical condition).

A fire chief described the condition as "your eyes are open, you're wide awake, but you don't realize what's going on around you." Luckily, no one was hurt and her wild ride came to end when she plowed into an embankment.

Yea, when you get into that situation, you have no concept of reality and/or decision making ability

Obviously the Suby WRX crowd needs to pay attention to this video. I think that KIA might just give them a run if its snowy out.
