Rear sway bar is the best bang for your buck suspension mod and usually the first mod period that most of us would recommend...even for daily driving.

I set my brakes on fire last time out, so that's where my money is going for this trek out.

So after weighing out my options, I decided to stick with my MonoRS coilovers. I had noticed when helping a friend install his that the fork design was updated. I went ahead and ordered myself a new set because they had changed the bushing insert. Keep in mind that I live in San Francisco. With the exception of Manhattan or Boston, I feel that San Francisco has the worst roads in all of America. This is probably what caused the premature failure of the bushings. After calling Godspeed, it turns out they had revised the design because this was a common complaint. I went ahead and ordered a new set of forks and rear shocks. The customer service is great (spoke and dealt with Aaron), and shipping was quick. 10/10, would recommend. On to the pictures --

Old fork and gacked bushing:

New design and bushing:

Because I never posted my brakes. Just an OEM rotor, EBC Yellow stuff pads, SS lines, and fluid:

Don't mind how dirty the car is. We're in the midst of a drought, so I'm just doing my part.

A trip to the alignment rack is what's next. Very happy to be messing around with this car again!

Great update man! Glad to see stuff is still happening with this one. Hows the other build coming along?

I'll be driving it down to Long Beach in September for JCCS, then again in October for the 80's/90's JCCS event at Toyota. That car is pretty much done for now and I'm happy with how it sits (my wallet too).

Looking good as usual Gabe. I had Godspeeds on my 11' r18 and they rode good. However, the quality was lacking (first gen Type RS), I took my car out in the winter twice and they were rusted to s***. Glad to see they took care of you.

That sucks. Yeah I did notice on my front forks a little bit of bubbling, nothing that concerns me (yet). I will eventually swap out; this was just the most cost effective solution for right now.

I need to dial in the rear a little bit. It was still rubbing on hard cornering, I'll have to raise it for the next time out. Front tires started to get a bit greasy towards the end of the day. I'll probably up to a wider tire. @squiggy I'll take your advice on the rear sway for the next time out.

Nice pics! Where were you running? Auto-X or track day?

Got rid of the banner, cleaned it up (a little?) and took it to a local Cars and Coffee event. I normally drive my EF to these types of things, so this is something new for me. My friend Matt was one of the hosts and took these pictures.

Here's an update!

Preparing for this summer's track days. Did a fluid flush and upgraded my front rotors. Haven't had the time to put on my new tires and get a new alignment. It's nice to have access to a lift as it allows you to do a check on all your bushings. Plus -- it makes life easier.

It's a mess under the car --

A nifty Porsche 911 in the garage along with an S14 that I couldn't get a decent shot of --

Can't wait to get back out there. Hoping to make big strides in my times this year!
