I've done a bit of research, and I decided that I may want to upgrade my 2012 Civic EX sound system. Factory radio will be retained
From the reading that I've done, it seems that a majority of the problem is the factory Amp. I am considering replacing that amp with an Alpine MRV-V500 5-Channel Amplifier.
So this is what I've read so far.
1. The factory radio outputs a low level signal to the amp. In other words, I can simply solder on RCAs and plug into the amp
2. Unlike my 2013 Sonata, the 2012 Civic EX radio does not need a signal processor because the signal to the amp is reasonably flat.
Can this information be confirmed?
