Getting married this week and my honeymoon is to go on TDY orders. But TDY orders are close to parents house where my dad's garage and all my tools are. So while I won't have my car I'll have my headlights and should be able to finish the retrofit!

I've gotta fix up the wifeys car too. Need to put in a new wiper motor, a new radio, mount a couple of tires, and take it to get the windows tinted. We were gonna trade it in for a Pilot or Raptor, but no car payment = awesome. I'll post some transition pics of that thing too because it should look completely different. I really want to plasti dip it camo tan because it's gold on tan. At least it would look somewhat cool like that lol.

I traded it in for this. Probably the worst interior $30k can buy you today for the Premium model. Sheet shaked, rattled, made weird noises and had less than 10k on the clock. My 2000 Trans Am that has 120k didn't have as many shakes and rattles and those interiors were horrible!

Plus I found copper in the oil and had a nasty exhaust leak that two Subaru dealers refused to fix and Subaru NA said they would only fix it under warranty if the engine detonated. That was the last straw with that car and the first and only Subaru I'll ever own. Both dealers also said they couldn't hear the exhaust leak either. I could fix it myself, but why bother when your car is under warranty? Horrible customer service for a small company like that (well not really if you think Fuji Heavy Ind.) I'll stick with my Hondas and Merican cars from now on.

Raptor would be for the wife. She maybe drives 11 miles a week lol. She wants something high off the road, with space for the baby, and it would satisfy my need for something with a little bit of utility and off-roading. The problem is the price tag - I could get a used F-150 for way less and mod it to similar specs for cheaper.

Can you post some pictures of the interior?

Looks really nice, how long did you have to wait on your order?

what's going on with the retrofit?

This new FX-R 3.0 is an absolute turd to work with. The bulb opening is too small so I had to drill it out to make it so the bulb can seat in there correctly. It's mounting points don't allow for being creative without lots of modifications, they are huge, and I received one with a broken lens and it took lots of fighting with TRS to get them to replace it because they just wanted to put the blame on UPS. I'm taking all the stuff to finish it down to Florida with me and they should be in the car in about two weeks. Gonna bring a lot of my tools back with me too.

I put a set of old FX-Rs on my old S197 Mustang. I didn't like the look of how this one turned out but it served it's purpose for better lighting.

Then on my 2010 Si.

Both of those only took me about a day or so. I've been working on this one way too long because I just haven't been able to get this projector to sit in the reflector bowl how I want. So you know what I'm doing? ditching the reflector bowls all together and mounting these strait to the housing like I did with the stang.

yes i am lol! I just need some time to take all those pieces off and do it properly. I can't remember my last day off and 10+ hours day makes it tough for doing stuff I want lol

And thank you very much!

I used whatever they sell at Home Depot which I believe is the matte black. I might redo it with a gloss but not sure on that yet.

Retrofit is almost done. I would have pics but I broke my phone in the process of jacking up the wifes car. Left it on the roof jacked up one side slid off and bam brand new galaxy s3 in pieces. Oh well.

I'll snap some with the D60 tomorrow.

Got a lot done on her car as well. Trans fluid flush, oil change, new radio with ipod/usb connection that she's been bugging for, PnP 5000k HID kit, and dropped it off for window tint. I miss having a garage soo much.

Loving the plastidipped rear chrome piece.. I think i'm going to do the same.. Looks far more "sporty" like the Si should have came from the factory. I have the same color sedan '13 as you.. Need to open up a new build thread soon.

.
I went today to check out the plastidip and I am getting someone to do it for me bc they have a spray gun kit and they said you don't need to take anything off, just spray the parts while still on the car. All my chrome is about to be black. Will post pics up when I get it all done

Sorry I've been all of the damn country for work and most of my free time has been keeping in shape and enjoying the areas I've been going too. I've finished the retrofit and dechroming the front as well in the time being as well. Also been enjoying my time with the family as well. hard to believe my little girl is already 4 months old!

The retrofit did not go as planned and I highly recommend not using FX-R 3.0s for the 9th gen. They are a massive pain in the ***. I couldn't even get shrouds to fit! I did; however, make it work, doesn't look great, but looks better than stock. Lighting performance is much better and I threw in some Rigid Industry duallys in as some aux lights. I'll have some pictures up this weekend.

I was attempting to use the reflector bowl to mount the FX-Rs but they were so heavy they broke the damn bowls once mounted! So threw the bowls out and decided to just mount to the housing. That was a huge undertaking in itself as getting the proper angle, height, and level was a whole day process, then final fitment came around and two sets of shrouds wouldn't work! Demon eye effect did work as planned either (clear lens aren't that great for that effect).

If I were to do this retrofit over again, I would use the ones 9thcivic sells and keep it simple.
