Mine is free through the dealer I bought the car from(as well as state inspections) but I get coupons for $15 oil changes all the time. Coupons are dealer specific.....
is doing it yourself an option? You can usually get synthetic oil on sale at most auto stores or walmart. If you get yourself a set of ramps, they'll pay for themselves in no time. Used oil can be taken back to most auto stores for recycling.
$45-ish at the Valvoline up the street. Way easier than making an appt at the dealer. They only get to change the oil. They touch nothing else. Also I just find a coupon online and get $10-15 off. It would be $60 otherwise. $45-50 isn't bad for the convenience and they use whatever oil I tell them. I've been getting the 0W-20 semi synthetic.
They try to push the extras and "services" I need right away or my car will explode. Just be firm. Oil only. I don't mind that they refill the washer fluid tank and check my lights while I'm there. It's possible they will horribly mess up one day. Been good so far.
I was paying $35 but it went up to $40 at my dealership here in Los Angeles. I get my oil at Walmart for around $15-19 and filter from amazon around $4, and do it myself for around $20. This is my video I shot on how to do it, not hard at all. View: https://youtu.be/hQ0AeLTrF8Q
