DO NOT ORDER RIGHT NOW
Pir8pete
I received mine in the mail today and it doesn't work.
Part of the installation process requires a password that is generated from Navteq when ordering the update. Those passwords aren't going out as they should be because of the problem with their website.
After contacting Navteq, they've informed me that they are still working on the issue and that a password will be provided at some later date.
So for now, I'd recommend holding off the purchase until you hear otherwise.

yes thats what they told me, it's not avail. yet to call back next week, it should be ready/avail. yeah no worries I didn't order it

Other than the password install issue does it also add the SMS texting ability to the i-MID after the update? $149 for the maps AND feature updates would be sweet deal for me. I wonder if there is just a feature only update either for free or low cost of something like $20?

We won't know for sure until they give me the password to install it. There is no mention of any feature changes, nor is there a low-cost option as you have suggested.

Two weeks later, Navteq called today and supplied the password.
The password doesn't work.
Called Navteq again and they confirmed that they had the wrong device ID entered; could have been my fault or theirs.
Opened a new case for a new password to be generated.
See you back here in two weeks.

why does it take 2 weeks to get a password? Would it be faster to just cancel the order / order again? :screwy:
Their website still isn't generating passwords during the order process, so that's a dead end option.
I'm told they're having to input all of the order details manually to generate the codes, which is causing the delays.

What a mess. You would think they could put up a special web page to generate the password based on equipment ID, VIN and order number which can only be processed once. So instead these poor souls at the data center have to enter these things in manually.

Hmmm... Might have to write a letter to Honda asking will we ever get those features in our 2012 since it's using the same hardware as the 2013.

Honestly...$149 is steep for me right now, I'd rather they just update the new features and not the POIs or streets. But I meet end up gettting it later on.
