1-10 scale, they have the top high performance at 7.09 out of 10. The ultra they have at 8.16 at the top. I haven't had either in the all season category to know how much of a difference that really is.

So after seeing @r18-power and the way his civic looks with his rims. Avid 1 model 06, I was wondering with my 2inch drop from the d2 springs, what size tire I could get with out rubbing. Right now I think my tires don't have enough meat as well. (Image of car below, without d2 springs). I like how meaty R18s are but he said he had to rub. If I stayed on 17s would this eliminate?

a few things here:
1. your stock tire size is 225/40/18, same as @r18-power
2. if you want to go down to a 17" wheel, i would recommend using a 225/45/17 tire. almost identical to overall diameter of stock and will also provide more sidewall "meat" that you are looking for
3. as @homegrown mentioned, the width and offset of the wheel will have alot to do with fitment and rubbing. there are tons of threads but if you want to run aftermarket wheels without having to do fender work, you will want to stay in the 8" wide range with a +35-40 offset.
