Thanks for the info! Do the caps really fall short on their job at higher speeds? Looks clean though, if for nothing else...

As long as whoever opens them up closes them right, they should stay in place. Unfortunately, I've had one loosen up during spirited driving, that a dealer technician didn't close properly.

I lost a lot of fluid, which slopped out on other components - making a mess, and because I was hundreds of miles away from home, I had to find a place that had more fluid to bring the level back up to where it should be.

The sock would have probably minimized all of that for sure.

I've never had one come off, but I know it tends to be popular with people doing autox/racing.

I only knew the last one, to prevent dirt getting on the side and prevent contaminating brake fluid since it's such high pressure. Last thing you want in debris in brake unions :/ lol
