Some random pics of our 10yr old Kobi

Watching us dig

After his bath and before his blowdry

Sleepy dog

No beer was in the bottle. I stuck a little peanut butter at the top to get him interested LOL

This is a kitten I saw today that I wish I could adopt. Such a cutie

I wanted this one too (look at the definitive "M" on his forehead:

He gets hotspots that he chews...no idea why

...but this is flea related. He is on flea tablets now. Only problem is...he thinks that by chewing at his bum/tail area he can make them go away...and he did quite a bit of damage to his rear area in a very short amount of time. I had to go pick one up for him before he could make the decision to self amputate his tail. :sadbanana:

:bighug: Thanks. He's the family dog...and up until the end of Oct...I hadn't seen him since February...he was in Ft. Myers with my family.
...but now that they've all moved back I get to spend time with him again when I visit on the weekends.

Mom has had a cold and dad is working long hours at his new job here...so I went and picked up the collar first thing this morning.
Got here last night :)

He's a great dog, very loyal, very smart, and VERY stubborn.

NEVER underestimate a shiba.

Kenji is VEDY stubborn, sometimes people think he's a dumb dumb, lol... But actually he's the complete opposite, if he's not in the mood & it's not me, he won't listen to ya. I think he thinks he's 2nd in command, it drives my fiance crazy sometimes...:giggle:

Does Kobi love the cat somedays but wanna eat him the next?

Actually...he tolerates and doesn't care about two of the cats...hates one of the cats (chases him constantly)...and ADORES another cat (to the point of cleaning his butt several times a day >_< )

Yeah, people don't realize how incredibly smart they really are. Kobi had that collar off many times in 5 minutes. I had to put it on quite tight to prevent him pulling it off. He'd take both paws, squeeze the wide ends in...which would loosen the tiny bit around his neck and pull it off.

He can open any door in the house. Handle or circle knobs (he'll curl his paws around) I've even seen him let himself out onto the back porch. My mom had a lanyard on the keys in the back door...he pulled the door handle down and yanked at the lanyard at the same time..and let himself out. We didn't teach him how to do that...he just did it. Absolutely incredible dogs

Kenji's not that wise yet, he can get the handle knobs but not the circle ones yet :giggle:

He knows how to open and drink a bottle of water.. He some how got the cap off like it was nothing & tilted his head back w/ it in his mouth.. Of coarse it freaked him out and he slung it everywhere but at first it looked like he knew what he was doing...lol

Hahahaha yeah! We love to crush empty water bottles for Kobi and sling them around our tile floor and makes tons of noise. He will pull it aside an twist the cap off also. It's crazy.

He recently got loose Late Oct and bolted. Robert went running right after him but it wasn't working..got close but robert ran right out of his shoes LOL
He got to the neighbors yard and I keep telling robert to yell at him...like he's never yelled before. He didn't. I ran down there.

YELLED DEEP and very loud.
"KOBI NO. GET BACK INSIDE NOW. BAD KOBI GET INSIDE"

He stopped what he was doing...turned right around. Walked straight up the driveway, along the sidewalk, up the front steps and into the house. As if he was on autopilot. Right past my mother too..she stood there wondering if she should lunge forward and grab him when he was near the door...or just let him keep going. Glad she just stood and watched...because if she'd moved he would have bolted We were just...SHOCKED. He's never done that before. usually it takes us 3hrs to catch him and we have to grab him.

I hear ya on the 3hrs.. I wish my car was as fast as Kenji :giggle:..

He pisses me off when he gets loose too cause he'll run then stop & look back at me, almost like he lets me catch up but when I get close, he starts going again.. Then he'll stop & i'll stop, he'll just stare at me, i'll walk up to him & right when I think I got him, were running again.. The last time I was able to get him, cause he jumped into a neighbors swampy yard & got soaked... He hates going outside when it rains or after it rains.. Big sissy!

Oh yes...Kobi was like that too...absolutely crazy. He was almost killed when he went out on to the busy main road during rush hour. Thankfully we caught him :(

Next time (I hope for your sake and his that there isn't)...try a deep, stern and very loud yell...like you've never done before...

Not the "No Kenji that's OUTSIDE. Badddddd!!!"

...and don't just stop after you say "NO. GET BACK INSIDE" Keep yelling at him the whole way back to where you want him.
That's what I did with Kobi..the whole way up the driveway and into the house LOL

See if that makes him shudder.

Sometimes I can take off running the opposite way from him & he'll chase after me but he wont follow me near the front door.. I really need to fence in my backyard
(I live on a 45mph road) so he can release some of that energy more often..

Btw, here's a pic of him staring down my Skyline Chili Dip, from a lil bit ago..
