Rims and tires.

What do you guys think about going from the stock 17x7 rim to a 17x7.5 or even a 17x8?
Also what tires are you guys rollin on?
The last thing I was thinking is the tire sensor, I know nothing about that.

I have a set of Asa ar1 rims that are 17x7 off my old car but they don't have a sensor, will the car flip out at me if I put them on?

Wheel/tire size also depends on the wheel's offset and suspension drop. You can run 225/45/17 tires on a 7.5" or a 8" wide wheel. The TPMS light will go off if you install wheels w/o TPMS. I don't think there's a way to disable the light unless you use the TPMS that's in your stock wheels to the aftermarket one.

Like in the future I plan on springs or coilovers and wider tires. If I put 17x8 I would probably roll the fendors out, but I might not even have too because that's still pretty skinny.

What I'm saying is that you don't need to have the TPMS on your car. The TPMS light will just be on the whole time, which can be annoying. So putting the TPMS from the stock wheels to whatever wheel you're getting is a better solution. The TPMS is already synced to your car and nothing will change if the TPMS is put on a different wheel. 225/45/17 is the recommended tire size for the 7.5" or 8" wheel.

You can run an 8" wheel w/o rolling the fenders. It all depends on the wheels' offset and the drop.

225/45/17 is the tire size. 225= width, 45= sidewall thickness, 17 = rim size.

A truck tire might be 75 sidewall (or higher) instead of 45. Much more sidewall height. A 35 sidewall would be thinner...rougher ride..because the rim is closer to the road.

Tpms sensors are on each rim. They give an alert if your tire pressure is low. If they aren't transferred to the new wheels, you'll have a message on your imid display.

I running a 17x8 +45 offset wheel running a 225/45/17 Conti DW's tire?... As for the tpms I have no clue...

Yup...

My setup on my 8th makes my wheels sit flush and even with the car lowered a inch no rubbing

If you buy a new set of sensors for the new wheels, be warned that you will be charged anywhere from say $25-100 dollars to have the new sensors programmed. Call around to your nearest dealerships. Pricing is all over the map on programming sensors.

This has to be done every time you swap wheels out. The ecu in the car only holds 1 set of wheel sensor info at a time. If you buy new sensors, those will need programmed. If you want to put your oem rims back on, you'll have to get the car reprogrammed. The fee of programming will happen every time you swap rims out. If you don't get them programmed, you'll get the warning on your i-mid display.

If you move your oem sensors you have into your new wheels, you have nothing to reprogram.

moving the sensors over? Just a nut that they loosen on each one. Tire shops do this on a daily basis
