I see there are no comments from the parents of the girl he kissed.

I overheard on the news that they dont want to go public. But did say something to the tune of " we dont want him around or touching our daughter". Again not a direct quote but.....


This pisses me off though..

Ok. I get it. You dont want him acting the way he was. There are a freakin million other ways that you could go about this.

Suspending the kid and then labeling him as a sex offender???

Yea thats not gonna make things any easier as he gets older.

I can remember being 7 yo, and while we were all lining up to head inside from recess, a girl and I kissed each other. That was my first time, and I never forgot it.

Anyway, something tells me we only have one side of the story.

He's just a kid. It's like a "dog kiss". There's nothing malicious behind it.

Get the kid some counseling - someone to help him understand why he must learn to curb his enthusiasm.

Thanks @webby . The truth is starting to come out.
Many rushed to judgement to say that this was an outrage. Finally we have a little snippet of the other side. Can you imagine being the father of this young girl who is repeatedly being kissed by a boy even though she is protesting and doesn't want him too? this boy's mother has admitted that her son has had many behavior problems at school. The boy also said he has a lot of energy. I'm a teacher, and no matter how cute this boy is and how romantic we perceive him kissing a girl's hand I can share another possible side to this story. This boy could be extremely hyperactive, bothersome and consistently be getting into trouble. He has probably been told on numerous occasions to stay out of people's personal space without any change in his behavior. Obviously action had to be taken. We can debate about how the school handled it, but we should all be able to agree that action was necessary and this certainly isn't an "outrage". People are so quick to pass judgement without having the full story.

I originally checked this story at first to see whther it was another boy - as much as they were carrying on about it.

Maybe there would be more understanding if it was another boy. Interesting.

This is a good example of why the news media needs to stay out of ppls lives, everything doesn't need to be on tv.

But back on topic. After looking into it a bit more I still think the school took it a bit too far. Initally. Them reducing the harrasment charge is proof right there that they realized it too.

The media doesn't help though.... and fox news is a joke for the most part. But I digress...

Did actions need to be taken considering the specific behavior problems this boy was having? Absolutely.

But dropping a sexual offense on someone who, lets be honest here, can't freakin physically even really do that yet??

Wow...

Like I said there are different ways that situation could have been handled.

And what annoys me most is the media. They always find a way to blow it out of proportion somehow...

Agree with you about media. Sensationalism sells. Quickly giving people one side of the story to shock is easier than checking facts and getting both sides of the story. All the media knows this.........especially FOX "News".
