TPMS failure

So, here's my update to all my TPMS drama.

In early November, I had some TPMS errors pop up. They said something about the TPMS system needing to be serviced, or needing maintenance. Whatever it was, it all went away in about 5 minutes and hasn't come on again.

A couple of weeks ago, I noticed my front tires looked low. They both had about 24 lbs of pressure in them. The TPMS warning lights never came on. Seemed odd.

Yesterday, we swapped out the OEM tires/wheels for the winter tires/wheels. I did not use the tool to change the codes yet because I didn't feel like it. I kept expecting the warning lights to come on while I was driving to work because the wrong sensors are now on the car and the system should NOT recognize them until I send the codes. Nothing.

I suspect the entire TMPS system failed back in November, but it's broken to the point it doesn't know it's broken. I was doing some web searches but I cannot find anything. Guess I'll be visiting the dealership next week. Good thing for Honda extended warranties...

Anyone else see anything like this?

What speed did you get up to on your commute to work? I know some wouldn't even communicate under a certain speed. So if you didn't reach ....say 40mph or something, it may not have even activated. (I do not know the speed needed on the 9th gens). The sensors are motion activated so the tpms batteries aren't constantly draining in the car while it's just sitting around doing nothing. Once they start spinning to a certain speed they turn on. I've had situations where I drove around on winter wheels without tmps for over a week before it actually triggered a warning, because I never got up to whatever speed it needs.

Oh, it was well over 40. :). Well over 60, too. Usually it comes on as soon as I get out of my neighborhood. I'd guess that 40 or 45 is about the trigger.
