Wheels & Springs. Need Help/Advice

Hello. Im looking to buy RPF1s and lowering springs for my 2013 LX sedan (DD). Ive been doing quite a bit of research, however still need some advice on wheel offsets and which springs to get. Im looking for a modest drop and 17x8 or 17x8.5 RPFs. Which offset would look best (close to flush) while avoiding rubbing and bumps /driveway problems (35, 40, 45)? My friend seems convinced I should get 35 offset, saying that the drop will add natural camber; however from what I've seen on the forums here even 45 offset looks pretty good with fairly decent drops (around 1.4-1.6). I know tires play a factor so any advice on that is appreciated as well( i do not want to stretch).


As far as as springs, Im looking at Eibach pro kit, Tein s-tech, and H&R.
Pro-kit seems really meager @ 1.0 front 0.7 rear; anyone have photos of 12-13 pro kit? Any advice?
The other springs seem pretty close in drop; any recommendations/suggestions regarding H&R/Tein.

Any advice/photos/links greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your reply. I had previously look at the mentioned threads; including yours on springs/suspension (very helpful). In fact i got most of my info on springs from your thread. I guess i will post to the threads with more specific questions.

hey man I have a coupe LX lowered on H&R's, my offset I believe is 45, but wishing I woulda went 40, I also have 5mm spacers on in the rear. Ride on the H&R's is great a little soft for my taste but hey, thats what I get for going the spring route lol. I do have a good bit of natural camber in the rear, I need to get it aligned but I enjoy the look and I'm not too stressed about tire wear as i wanna go wider and lower next summer.

Are those 17s? Looks like 18s. What are your wheel/tire specs? Is the ride bouncy? Rubbing?

Wish I could see a 2013 sedan with Pro kit. (with the 1.0-0.7 drop)

They're actually 18's and I'm right they're 225/45/18, yeah the ride is pretty bouncy, i'm saving for coils at this point.

WHy not just get some good shocks. I dunno what youre trying to build it for, but for DD coils are overkill.

Strut availability is probably only Koni yellows at this point, which require heavy modification of the stock struts to work. I don't know if Tokico blues are available yet.

Also if you are thinking about buying RPF1 wheels make sure you research the wheel width and the way it looks. A 9" wide wheel looks very very different from the 8.5" wide wheel. It looks completely different. Google pics first. Don't just order a 17x8.5 and find out the hard way the wheel doesn't look like you thought it would.

Never knew Koni would be a hard install; thanks for the heads up. Yah I got the "shells" RPFs. I like the flat ones but I wasn't gonna go with 9" wheel.

Now for springs: Eibach, Tein, or H&R. Looking for best ride comfort. Anyone have the spring rates on these, or have tried em? (aside from the people that posted already) BTW jopylein, hows the ride on the eibachs?

I ran the prokits for a while on stock struts. Ride was not too bad at all. A little stiffer, handling was improved, but the main thing was the better look of the slight drop.

I think i made up my mind on H&Rs. The Eibachs for my model are only 1.0"F - 0.7"R that seems too little; as I have a 4-finger gap front and back. Thank you for your input^

Yeah NP man. The pics of the H&R's ive seen installed look very good. I did think the prokit drop was a little shy of what I would have liked.
