Are you kidding me?? HOW THE **** do you take out this shifter?????? I'm about to give up, too many pieces you have to take apart to get to this damn thing.. Not worth it!
you got the 2 front bolts out? the 2 cables have tabs you lift up then they will spin(spring tighten o make sure you hang on)

S2KJAY theres 2 screws in the center console remove those then pull the whole thing out of the way
so you wont have to pull the shifter cables off

K got my stuff done.. Wasn't easy i.m.o., especially getting the little blue cap off.. Some pics for everyone:

its easy to pop the blue cap off with like an open wrench.. stick it between the shifter shaft and the cap and pop the cap off.. to put it on, i just put the cap on the short shifter and pressed it against the ground.. armo can vouche for that haha

spdandpwr well, a couple of things I noticed with this setup: 1- because the knob sits a little more than an 1.25 inches lower, it is stiffer because I'm now closer to the actual ball joint.. the height is VERY nice, perfect actually.. and the short shifter extension is a dream.. combined with the shorter height makes for a very stiff and precise short throw.. the added threading I did combined with the top inch trimmed off gave me a very low setting.. I'm happy!
