First Oil Change - 2012 Civic Si

i drive a 13 si coupe. only about 2k+ miles on it but it says my oil life percentage is at 20%
What oil and filter would be best for my first change?

What are you doing,redlining at every go? Wow that was quick,might want to take that into the shop and see what is up,way too early.

It does seem way early. My maintenance reminder just came on and I've got 12k kms (7500 miles) on it.

I got 3800miles and it just dropped from 50% to 40%

I do have a car starter on my SI and is used everyday. So extra engine cycles caused by that for me probably

I just got my 2012 Civic Si. Have yet to do my first oil change.

What does Honda use as a OEM oil for the Si? Do they use a full synthetic?

Do most of you guys continue running the OEM oil or switch to something like Mobil 1?

Is it best to buy a oil filter from the dealership? Stick with the recommend 0w-20 correct?

Stick with 0-20 oil. Honda has their own synthetic blend. They also sell a full synthetic 0-20. The honda filter has been praised in a number of reviews. Other brand compared - http://9thcivic.com/forum/threads/oil-filter-comparisons-by-brand.4035/

I had first oil change two weeks ago at 7500 miles, I noticed the car seems to run a tad better, could be the change in temperature outside too though..
