I never thanked you for posting this up jack, this is what Im using to set up my new sound system with oem system
 
Wow this is incredible! Now I know exactly which wires I need to splice into for the subwoofer preouts.
 
attach loc after head unit only.

Does it lose signal integrity that much? I attached the loc at the rear speakers and signal was weak and thinking of attaching to front speakers instead as it seems like front speakers sounds way louder/better than the rears.
 
That means I have to pull the HU again. For those who has a 2013, it's a little different than the 2012. The HU face is all one piece that holds the vent and HVAC controls. It doesn't just pull out as there are two screws holding it. There are six screws to be removed total. The first two is when you open the little compartment right below the HU, unscrew that and pull it towards you and you'll find another two screws underneath it. Unscrew that and at this time you should have a view directly underneath the HU, there are two bolts/screws holding the whole thing.
 
if you do it again, I'm sure users would love pics/diy info on how to do it. Just a suggestion
