2012 Civic Coupe EX Build

I installed some fender liners today, hopefully the tired don't eat them up this time. I installed a new mirror cap on the driver side and well this is the result of a DIY, but I'll be ordering a mirror soon. Also changed out the filters today.

I have a new oil leak somewhere on the driver side I would say mid way up, not near the oil drain plug or filter.

Yeah lol I could of done without the broken mirror, but live and learn. @webby are you aware of anything that might leak oil on the driver side? My car just hit 170K, not sure if anything just gave out like a seal or gasket?

Ah, I forgot I also added the new rubber door seal. I had super glued it before to make it stay. lol Cleaned it off nd put the new.

I can't quite place where that leak is. I wonder if it's where the trans and engine join? Are your engine oil or transmission fluid showing full?

Hey all!

I decided to go ahead and fix my fog lights after about a year of neglect. Turned out to be the relay. I was looking into where my fuse tap was and I moved it to fuse 23 so the power to it gets cut when ignition is off and gets power when ignition is on. I have two 10 AMP fuses in the tap, but I believe slot 23 is 7.5, should I have two of those instead of the 10’s since fogs don’t require too much? Thanks guys.

Yea, I’d grab some 7.5amp fuses when you get a chance, although 10amp fuses are unlikely to cause you any issues with wires burning or something before the fuse would pop.

I have an issue with my driver side fog light connector. The sits in there and it works, but I just feel like it isn't seated firmly and over time loosens the connection and no longer works. My right side is fine. Any grease or other methods to fix the issue instead of clipping the wires and connecting a new plug?

Can you throw a zip tie or something around the connector to keep it from separating?

I can try that out, might be the only option. Wouldn't the light burn the zip-tie?
I wouldn’t think the connector would get that hot. If it did, it could easily melt the plastic connector. They also sell stainless steel zip ties on amazon or harbor freight if you’re worried. I think they were like $6 or something at harbor freight for a bunch in a pack. Amazon also has tons of options and lengths you could buy, but if you’ve got standard plastic ones, I’d just try those first.

Hey guys! I'm looking to replace the blower motor for my civic since it is making noise, but I see two part numbers listed. I have called the dealership, but they don't know which one will fit. Is there an easy way to determine this or would it require removal of the old unit? Thanks!

Part Numbers: 80030-TR0-305, 79311-TR6-A71

Check the one in your civic for a part number on it.

So the 80030 part number should be the 79311 part with an added adapter in case you have one of the earlier connector parts.

According to below, the parts are the same. 80030 just comes with a harness adapter in case you need it.

There were a small number of Civics made at the beginning of the production run with one style of connector for the blower motor. This was changed soon after production began to the other style of connector. However, there's no record of where in the production cycle the change occurred. The Honda parts database defaults to listing part number 79311-TR6-A71 for all cars. The correct part for mine is 80030-TR0-305. It's a kit which contains part 79311-TR6-A71 and a wiring harness adapter.

Honda originally made a separate blower with the other style of connector (part 79311-TR0-A01). However, they simplified their parts inventory by just making the one style of blower and including an adapter.

this is probably correct. pro demand shows the 80030 in my estimate guide for that year and model. kind of concerning that the dealer doesnt know any of this. it should show up on their end when looking up the part.
