9thcivic Tail of the Dragon Part II: Official Information and Attendee Thread

Heck yeah... I'd be thrilled to have a passenger. But, to be honest, I don't expect to have any repeat passenger.... if you get my 'drift'. :rotfl:

Ok, I'm starting to have bad dreams, like expensive tickets and escalating insurance premiums. Nightmares really. So that got me thinking about preventive measures, like having a scout up front with a walkie talkie or phone in close contact with the larger pack of drivers following a few minutes behind. Thoughts?

Also, somebody said TN is worse than NC in terms of issuing citations and their severity. That the Tail itself is highly supervised (with good reason) but other roads are more relaxed in terms of enforcement. I'm looking for roads where we can enjoy closer to a 45 - 50mph limit.... Anybody with intel or link on that stuff?

Rt 28 and the skyway are much better for higher speed cruising with much less traffic and law enforcement. The dragon is overrated during the day and weekends. Too much traffic.

That must be the Moonshiner 28, right? Thx. Have also seen references to the Devil's Triangle, Six Gap, Snake, Diamond, etc. Would appreciate hearing of other favorites... from anybody.
The Tail itself looks like a relatively unforgiving, narrow road with precious little room for error. It's not that any of us will have a problem staying in our own lanes... but what about bikes that lose it... those we suddenly discover in our lane as we come around a turn? Talk about a sobering thought. I bow to your considerable expertise, DR. :hail:

And then what happened? Close call?

I used to sit backwards in the car without feeling nauseous...then for 2 1/2 years I was nauseous 24/7 lol ...and then got motion sickness. I haven't vomited because of it..but i've been VERYCLOSE

health related issue

Hopefully webby will get a lodge room if he's coming, as my cabin (and where Jeff will be staying) is towards the back of the resort.

LOL, I am not that bad of a driver...
No, I'm just that bad as a passenger.

The G handles better than the WRX, it's (obviously) much more balanced and doesn't understeer as easily, so with that said I may look into some summer tires for it, I have to replace the balljoints also.

Ball joint failure...

I just saw the first pic and thought: Nah, that car just has a zero turn radius feature!
