Morning Friends. After a roundabout 4000 miles, I am finally here!

And I'm really looking forward to seeing you all here, safe and sound and ready to play. You've all been so helpful and incredibly entertaining in my first Si experience, and I thank you so much for that. This board rocks. YOU rock!

As I came in, however, I was more than a little shocked at what I saw today. So I need a second opinion before I panic and head home. (yeah i'm a woos)

The Dragon is a wreck. There was a brutal downpour on the way in. Leaves from the trees flooded the road. Couldn't actually see the road. Then, it appears, they mowed the grass earlier today in several areas. Maybe yesterday. It must have been a LOT of grass because the resulting debris almost completely covered the right lane coming in for 5 - 7 miles. More such "showers" are expected over the next few days, meaning more mess. If they don't actively clear the road I doubt whether the Dragon is drive-able the way most are used to. Maybe this is typical... but if the situation persists maybe we should remain open to a small change in our itinerary. Maybe a large change, i don't know.

The rain didn't bother me. The leaves and the grass didn't bother me either...although going 25/30 (MAX) on the road of my dreams caught me off-guard. My brother, tough guy that he is, is literally shaking after the drive in... but don't tell him I told you! (Hopefully my driving wasn't that bad) I'm glad most of you are coming tomorrow or Thursday. Come during the day if you can, because coming at night without lane visibility or much traction is a special challenge.

The bottom line is that I'm more than a little worried that the coming weather forecast and current road conditions have made this field "unplayable".

Veterans! Please provide some much needed perspective, if you would. I'm sure several of you have seen this before and know what to do.

The weather shouldn't be a problem. we might see some rain, and debris. The road is cleaned fairly quickly and doesn't stay wet too long.

There's a slight chance of storms the next few days, with clearing by Friday, I think you're getting too worried over this, I drove the dragon in the rain several times, and 30mph is about the tops one can do safely.

And I'm out, see some of you tomorrow, and I'm not too worried about rain, small chance Wed - Thurs

And remember, the Dragon is not the only attraction down there....
