BMW M3 Track Car

Correct. The rear shock tower is damper only in stock form, with the spring mounted on the upper control arm ( like the Si's).

looks amazing robert.

not sure if you've answered this already, but what camber/caster/toe specs are you running?

and thanks Jesse. We need to meet up some time, it's been too long. I heard you were rocking an e30 now? Post some pics :)

Threw the track wheel on to test fitment before taking them to a friends house so he can take them down to Savannah for me next weekend:

-3.5 D:!!!!
Do you feel that actually helps? What dia. sway are you using? springs rates and rebound rates?

you can see it when we hang out :) it's a jaloppy right now, though :(

Jesse, yes. Tire temps were pretty much to spec on the pyrometer with that camber. Stock sways at the moment.

Webby; no. I only put one wheel on and took them all to the guy who's taking them to Savannah for me next weekend. I'll grab some shots when I throw them all on.

So I finished my prep work today..

Replaced the fubar'd driveshaft flex disk(connects driveshaft to output shaft on transmission), transmission mounts, brake duct backing plates and ducting, and an oil change.

pipe sticking out is temporary until I can get a proper duct/mount.

also, paint on front bumper got worse after I ripped the whole thing off trying to get it in the driveway on 2x 6' 2x10 piece of wood. I'll get it repainted at some point.

yeah, I saw the guibo last weekend when flushing the tranny fluid and diff fluid and my eyes bulged.. first thought was "damn it, I have to spend even more money on this bloody thing"

I'm hoping my bmw endeavor isn't as expensive and exhausting as yours.

why did you go with an oem rubber guibo instead of a solid one? just curious, because I'll be doing a rear-diff swap and I'll need to change the guibo as well.

After all my research this was the most commonly used by all the NASA/BMWCCA race cars. It lasted 2 years and there's no real performance gain from anything else. I got it at employee cost ~$75..

I don't mind saving up and spending money to make it perform better, but it really is draining with all the preventative, and regular maintenance needed.

Thanks Jesse. It's a shame the tires sucked super donkey kong dong. I went 2 seconds faster on starspecs with one mounted backwards and not balanced than the slicks on the track wheels.
Thankfully I sold my other seats so I can pick up some new rubber for my last event of the year in november at road atlanta.

Ken - the brake ducts worked very well. No fade throughout a 20min session. Although the track isn't hard on brakes... my PFC01 pads are superb with or without.
