Wow, I never looked at the stats of the GTi so I didn't know it was so close to the Si stats. Well 40 more tq is quite a gain though. I always just assumed since they were turbos that they would smoke a Si, but I guess it is a prett close race.

Wow ok I just looked up the specs and it's not turbo :/ my fail!

I always thought the GTi were turbo'd.

I assumed the same to be honest so don't feel bad

Turbo'd since 04/2011

Oh I looked up the specs on edmunds and it said 2.0l But didn't say turbo. Although it does say direct injection I thought that referred to the fuel injectors or something. Maybe that means it has turbo??

So to clarify a GTI does have a turbo? Waaaay off topic for this thread but.... Lol

yes its turboed ....and direct injection is a fancy way of saying its electronic fuel injected which all new cars have each company just calls it some fancy name just so people can say ooooooh aaaaaahhhh lmao

but yeah they are turboed and its just a matter of whos the better driver ...ive been confronted by 3 so far and quite frankly i cant tell u how their rear lights look like lol but they can tell u how my lights are lol

in all aspect im not gonna lie i did go look at the gti b4 the si cause i wanted to see wat my options were for around 23-25k price tag and i just Cant see myself in a golf sorry lol. :barf:
plus turboed only pushing 200 hp ???? :rotfl: na i dont think so brotha !!! for wat so i can be confronted by an si or frs and get my a$$ handed to me on a plate with sprinkles on top !!!! No thanks !! i think my si was a great choice for me plus i dont see alot of si coupes yet so my car gets looks but everywhere i turn i see a freakin GTI ...Heck i think my friends grandma just Bought a GTI NO TY LOL !!!!!

When do u think Honda will be releasing a recall if any at all, I'm in the process of hunting down a 2012 si, and came here to find this thread and now scared straight...

no idea what percentage of owners have this issue, nor do I have any idea on how many reported problems it would take to get a recall. I'd say a recall would be pretty unlikely.

I think its so funny I've burned over 2 quarts on first 3500 miles ... now that I bring my car in every other Thursday they say its on full each time I bring it in. Its been 4 times I've brought it in and this Thursday they gonna tell me the same thing. Is it possible they are adding stuff to it? I'm at 4600 miles

Why don't you check it yourself before taking it in.
To check oil warm the engine / turn it off / wait 5 min. / pull the dip stick out / wipe it off with a clean cloth(or paper) towel / oil should be just under the top mark / The difference between the top & bottom mark is a quart.......... Check on level ground

here are the parts that were used to correct the oil consumption issue

have you been checking it when you go in? As monk said - check it yourself... to make sure nothing funny is going on. You may be one of the lucky individuals who no longer has oil consumption. Others have had that happen.

Sorry i accidently posted incomplete parts list and ran out time to edit the message. webby is there a way I could email you a pic of the work order copy? I am trying to add it but it says the file is too big.
