Mother Of All Whore Threads Non-VIP Edition v.1

I work less hours than you depending on the week, lol

But I have to focus on what I do or I might charge something incorrectly and can impact peoples pay and the stores revenue.

You work less than 34 hours per week? Dang! You salary?

Yeah you don't want to mess people's pay up. They will come after you.

I’d whip it around town….

Yeah, salary and work from home. Some weeks I work a full 40 hours and some weeks I might work 15 hours.

Once I turn in the monthly reports on the 20th of the month or around that date. I pretty much babysit the email and cut checks once a week.

Salary & WFH... No thanks.

I wish the body shop world had an efficiency review committee.. these hacks back here could use it

i just received your efficiency review, the head office really thinks you can get that down to 30 seconds

I mean, the extra time is to make sure I don't hurt anyone in my absolute fury, but for the sake of the company, I can plunge the office into an Optiplex mosh pit.

Why not? I think its the best....I don't get overworked unless I choose to work some extra hours, I make my own schedule, I somewhat pick and choose what I want to work on daily. I mean, I get paid to run errands/mountain bike/sit on my butt during "business hours"

I've done the cube thing for 12 years and don't want to go back.

I could tell stores for hours on this subject!!

One very quick one I can share would be a time we were working on a crappy Jeep Compass and we needed a signal lamp up front..

So we waited 2 months to get this in and the tech had it for maybe 3mins before he punched it trying to make it fit on the bumper

Punched it and broke it in half..

Being familiar with a Jeep Patriot, those body panels can have a massive gap or no gap. Poorly designed or poorly executed. Probably both.

everything about that chassis is dumb. made me lots of money a few years ago when we were selling used ones though. i miss those days. made 100 hours one week.

The last gen Cherokee's are the current peices of sheet.. they all suck trying to get to fit anything.. even OEM panels

Makes me so happy that almost all of these come in totaled now. Another quick one with this body style car, we had a lady curb her wheel in the ice storm we had recently. Replaced the wheel and some suspension and she was under the impression that we would paint her whole car. Left an awful survey and tried to sue us

LOL. how do you sue someone when the quote says nothing about painting the car?

Just like we were sued because we kicked a car for having wood screws holding the bumper to the fender and we weren't going to work on the car because of the added damage from the customer

people these days..

Why you trying to get me started on this topic... lol - yeah yeah I brought it up. I know

But I like interacting with customers/users/co-workers. I don't want to be stuck in my house only talking to those customers/users/co-workers via Jabber, WebEx, Teams, email, ect...

I know I'm the minority especially for being in the IT field (most IT people keep to themselves and are interesting lol). Also I support various sites in which I try to fix their issues remotely (from my work office) but I do have to go out at times. Today I was at 3 sites + my work office. Granted it's hot as balls outside today I'd rather stay inside the AC but had to go to these sites as the things I needed to do couldn't be done remotely.

You are salary so it's a bit different with you but those getting paid hourly should only be running errands, mountain biking or sitting on their butt on either their lunch break or when they get off work.

I did the cubical thing for 6 years and then have been in the field (with a remote office) for 10 years I believe.

There is an employee that took I believe at $10k (maybe more) pay cut when they required her to come into the office. She wanted to WFH permanently.
