Mother Of All Whore Threads Non-VIP Edition v.1

We haven't had nice summer nights with a breeze in a while. And the mosquitos (at least around my area) are BAD! Very bad. Like if you stand outside 2 minutes you will get 15+ mosquitos on you. No joke

Mid 90's all week with the humidity. @Honda-Fan @Dad - Take your weather back!
Edit: Nevermind I don't want your 100+ weather like I see you are getting all week lol

Leave it to us real men :rotfl:

95F with the humidity for the next couple days here.

rained so much yesterday within a couple ours it filled my pool over an inch.

Pool update!
Got a call from a guy that came by last week that can fix the pool. Long story short he said another guy nearby had the same company is tall a pool and is haven't issues similar to mine. Apparently he's a lawyer and either works for or knows the owner of the manufacture of the pool shells. So it's nice to know we aren't the only ones getting screwed.

Anyways. Still no reply from the pool company about what they're going to do.

I just can’t imagine the bullshit you’re going thru for that pool. I’d be livid too.

Will the rug not be a problem for trapped moisture and mold with how your climate tends to be?

We’ve had those rugs for a couple of years. They can trap moisture but we put them away during the rainy times and that one is under a cover where it will not get wet

Early morning out here in the west. Meetings start at 5:00a because those guys back east start their day at 8:00.

just called the body shop to see if my flap was done. he said the clear didnt take well to the carbon fiber. i gotta go and see how bad it is.

Didn't end up paying for this. He said he would throw a couple more coats on if I sanded down and it would probably be smoother. Should I or just slap it on the car? to be honest that looks more like a fish eye problem. im not sure what to do, can hardly see it in the sun.

No, it def needs more clear. Afterwards it can be wet sanded down and polished to a flat surface.

@Janz3n how did the part look before you took it to the painter? was it nice and smooth? I remember back in the 8thgen days that PWJDM did not have the best finish on the power chamber intake I had from them. Like, they didn't use enough resin in the carbon and created pinholes in the intake.

To me it sort of looks that way on the gurney flap. The clear is jsut falling in the pits of the missing reasin. Could also just be the clear like the painter said.....i've run into that isue before but but not nearly as bad as you have.

DAMMIT. i wanted to put it on today. i'll sand it down and bring it back. recommended to wet sand or dry sand clear thats getting more coats?
as for how it looked before, yeah, it looks like there wasnt enough resin and you could see the pits between the weaves.

More clear for sure.

The clear coat is reacting to the surface which is causing the fisheye problem, adding more clear wont really fix the problem. You would have to sand it down and prep the surface with a tac rag (red) and get the surface really clean and then you can apply a good clear coat. Try to get as many coats as you can so you can buff and polish to finish

I think im gonna sand it and get him to do a couple more coats, if anything it will look better at least. as much as i want to install it right now i know i'll regret not trying to make it better.

I didn’t mean he should just add more clear on top of what he currently has. It needs sanded and then more clear. Then any orange peel look can be buffed out to make a nice flat gloss look.
