I wanted to have it by the end of 2023/early 2024. I think if I’m in the same place next year at this time, I’ll figure something else out.

I forgot to turn the furnace back on the other night because I was sanding drywall. Got down to 67f. Slept well.

Our house is small (1120 sq ft) and 1 floor... so that helps. Wife would keep it a bit higher (68*) and I would keep it a bit lower (66*) since the oil furnace is in the hallway and can be a bit loud when it kicks on... so I would keep the temp lower to not make it turn on as much lol

i hear a lot of people keep it lower than we do. im not sure if its because of our high ceilings or not. but my shop at work is set to 67 and i find it pretty cold.

Wife cranks ours to 72deg during the day, I usually keep it at 70deg and then 68deg at night. We’ve got radiators so staying warm isn’t ever a problem.

Problem #1 - She's home during the day.
In the summer time I'll raise the AC up (so it's warmer in the house) when we are gone at work
The cats don't mind it. They are still comfortable. They could be outside in the heat but they are lucky they are inside!

Since I live in a concrete building, I'm not even having to use the heat in 20-30 degree weather; It stays pretty toasty somehow.
I picked up a pretty big project at work. Gonna keep me busy for a while. Oh joy
