Mother Of All Whore Threads Non-VIP Edition v.1

I went to Firestone for an alignment (I have the unlimited alignment special I got a while ago - think 2 per year max).
Anyways... I need new tires (researching that now) since they are worn... but I see on the invoice for cost of new tires they put down my cabin air filter needs replaced...

$24.99 for the filter
$22.99 for the install
-------
$47.98 total :rotfl:
again, not everyone can or wants to do it. i dont work for free. 22.99 isnt a bad labour price. filters can cost more than $20 at the store too.

some shops charge way too much for filter replacement labour. brake fluid generally should be flushed every 2 years but you can check the water content with test strips to see if it should be done. brake fluid flush is like an oil change, its cheap insurance that your brake components wont fail prematurly.

i assume the emission test is a simple plug in and check for readieness monitors and make sure the engine light isnt on to pass or fail. so checking filter was purley an up sell. some people simply dont check that stuff and i think they partly tried to up sell to be nice but mostly to get your money.

It was a plug-in test, yeah.

My cabin filter was genuinely dirty, though. :pout:
I ordered another one off the Honda-webs.

I had no clue if you had done it. I was just saying it's like a 2 min job.
But not in a Ford Fiesta ST......WORST cabin filter location EVER! It was under the radio. Had to drop the glove box entirely, remove a panel, remove the door then smash the filters to take them out and fit them back in. They were 2 small filters(like 3"wide by 8" tall or something like that) but you had to squeeze the filters to 1" wide to get them to fit in. PITA!

Change it every year ya gooob!

I am a few hundred miles from 30k so gonna change the oil("light" came on), rotate tires, rear diff fluid and check filters since I haven't looked at them since I bought the truck last Nov and not sure if Toyota did them with the last 2 free oil changes they did(20k and 25k services).

Might need to do an alignment as the steering wheel is a bit crooked and the truck likes to wonder to the right on certain roads.

I bought the last one during the pandemic, so it's probably been several years
I admit I forgot about that filter until this weekend.
