Heard a statistic that package theft in Washington DC is the 4th highest in the country with 213 incidences per 1000 households. That’s 21.3% crime rate…nuts! And worse, there are three other places where it’s worse.

After having a tankless water heater for 5 years and now having a tank I prefer the tank. Can still have a hot shower after the power goes out.Issues with the plumbing? Time to upgrade to a tankless water heater?
Water heater controller went, thought it was just the thermopile but that didnt fix it. Going to tankless is 2x as much, needs a larger gas line and new holes in the roof, so its going to be replaced with another tankIssues with the plumbing? Time to upgrade to a tankless water heater?
So thankful for my neighbor who grabs any packages he seesHeard a statistic that package theft in Washington DC is the 4th highest in the country with 213 incidences per 1000 households. That’s 21.3% crime rate…nuts! And worse, there are three other places where it’s worse.
I had to go tankless a few years ago. My water heater closet is behind the furnace and under the stairs. We could only get a 40 gallon into the position without having to remove and reinstall the furnace. We had to have intake and exhaust rerouted and walls repaired. We had a 90° bend so the venting went out the siding instead of roof as the attic wasn’t high enough for vertical exhaust.Water heater controller went, thought it was just the thermopile but that didnt fix it. Sure....but the water will eventually go cold in the tank. After having a tankless water heater for 5 years and now having a tank I prefer the tank. Can still have a hot shower after the power goes out.
oh...yeah, would stick with the tank rather than doing all that work.Water heater controller went, thought it was just the thermopile but that didnt fix it. Going to tankless is 2x as much, needs a larger gas line and new holes in the roof, so its going to be replaced with another tank
I wonder how much "package theft" crime is on the overall percentage of all crimes in DC.Heard a statistic that package theft in Washington DC is the 4th highest in the country with 213 incidences per 1000 households. Ours is all installed outside. All venting is outside. I don't think code allows the tankless to be installed inside the house.Friend just had one installed at his place and they also ran his vent out the side wall instead of going through the roof
Same here, tankless heater installed outside the home; but, that is where it was when I bought the house. Previous owners moved the tank water heater from the center of the garage to the outside but I think it was code that caused them to move it there with the desire to go tankless. I was glad that the water heater wasn't in the middle of the backwall of the garage, that's prime real estate for car related activities.Ours is all installed outside. All venting is outside. Yes, but you can at least use whats in it before its cold. i found the tankless wasnt very on deman hot either. temp fluctuated a lot too. maybe mine just sucked, but it was brand new.Sure....but the water will eventually go cold in the tank.
In our last house, the water tank was in the corner of the garage. Kinda sucked but at least it wasn't in some closet near the middle of the house like I have seen in some places.Same here, tankless heater installed outside the home; but, that is where it was when I bought the house. I believe NC allows them inside. I'm sure it all depends on code and "weather".Warmer climates tend to have them outside
Yeah, I always thought tankless was on demand but turns our they are not unless you have a recirculating system. So we placed ours on the wall of our bathroom/our side of the house compared to where the guest rooms are. So hot water comes in super quick. Stays hot unless a few people are using but then it stays warm to hot....never has gone below warm level. We just hit a year in the house last week.Yes, but you can at least use whats in it before its cold. i found the tankless wasnt very on deman hot either. temp fluctuated a lot too. maybe mine just sucked, but it was brand new.
also, all tankless heaters installed where i was were vented out the wall.
