New Guy Here

Dar-Dar,

I just ordered the knob you suggested on CorSport made by ICB. I am excited to try it out, I will keep you posted.

Very nice car. TW always looks good on Si's whether Coupes or Sedans. This is the first picture I have ever seen of the Si Sedan other than official literature from Honda.

Awesome! Shipping is usually a week, more or less, from Corsport. Can't really complain about that since it's free. I will get the same shift knob sooner or later.

Webby - As soon as I get it installed I will have pictures for sure.

Dar-Dar - The free shipping is a great deal, I will not be complaining about an arrival time

All others - Thanks for you input on the thread. Always nice to have a helping hand when you're the new guy

ALRIGHT, TO GO ALONG WITH MY HEADING "NEW GUY" I AM ALSO I NEW GUY TO ANY SORT OF WORK ON VEHICLES. I ORDERED MY NEW ICB SHIFT KNOB AND IT CAME WITH THE NEW KNOB AND A NUT. I GOT THE OLD STOCK KNOB OFF AND ATTEMPTED TO INSTALL THE NEW KNOB, HOWEVER I CAN NOT GET THE SHIFT PATTERN TO LINE UP WHEN I SCREW IT ON. HOW DO I GET IT TO LINE UP CORRECTLY? HOW DO I USE AND WHICH DIRECTION SHOULD THE NUT GO THAT CAME WITH THE NEW KNOB?

ALL YOU'RE HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED

I think the nut goes counter clockwise where as the knob goes clockwise. I could be wrong but thats what I think I remember. Personally I never use the nut, I screw the nob directly on without the nut. And so far it usually always lines up and it allows the knob to sit flush with the boot.

I tried that also, still does not line up, however it does look better without the nut because it does sit more flush with the boot. Should I try wrapping the threads with a bit of electric tape to change how far it needs to be tightened?

Mr.Magic, thanks for you're help. I am going to try the washer idea, I think that it will work. It only turns about 1/4 turn too far, so I think if I can find a small enough washer that should eliminate my problem as long as I can get it tight enough so that it does not come loose while shifting.

yea it will work, and it deff won't come loose, I have it done on my knob, and I have to use to hands to unscrew my shiftknob, No problem!

(My car is not normally this dirty, but it has rained for the last 14 days here)

After using two washers as spacers I was able to get my new Shift Knob to properly line up. Here is a picture of my new ICB Shift Knob. I ordered it on Wednesday through CorSport and received it today! The weight is awesome and makes shifting a ton smoother. Highly recommend this knob as well as ordering through CorSport.

I want to paint the washers red due to the fact that they are currently gold and do not match. You can barely see them, but I am extremely anal when it comes to things like that. Any recommendations on how to go about painting them so when I crank down the knob it does not rip/tear/crack the paint off?

I will attempt to get a better picture tomorrow in the day light hours. Very happy with my purchase though. Fits well in my hand, looks good, and shifting feel is good.

looks very nice. Like Ken said, it looks like a nice size for your hand

Thought I would post this up. Friend of mine recently opened his own photography business and luckily for me he is also a huge Honda fan. Went around a local town the other day and took numerous shots of my new Si. So far this is the only one I have seen, I will post the others when they are available to me.
