ive wanted to set something up like that to monitor my media server, drive health, temps, user/stream volumes etc. But ive lost interest every time i start trying to setup grafana. Wonder if this could tap into all that info for me

and that drive says it was manufactured in 2012. That drive may be fine, but they do have a read/write lifespan before they puke. Some people have mechanical drives die in a matter of a couple years, while others can last 10+.

and SOME machines seem to come equipped with drives that go bad as soon as I get them :mad:
 
i'm not surprised but also kinda amazed how were all just ok with it

Back in 2004 when it first came to my college campus, one of my profs heard the class talking about it and back then said "if they're giving you all that for free, they're gonna have to make money somehow, you are what they're gonna sell"

Honestly why would most people care? How does it affect us in a negative way? If Facebook wants to know how much porn I watch go ahead.
