TPMS sensor meltdown

The 9th gen only holds 1 set of sensor info in the ecu. Unless you're cloning the info in the original sensors...?

I know this is a very old thread, but figured I’d see if anyone has any input on my situation. I had Discount Tire patch a screw in my rear driver side tire, and after getting my car back, I have had “check TPMS system” come on once daily after driveling a bit of distance. Then after a few miles it shuts off. Psi is 32 on all 4 and always has been, and I’ve never got this warning light before I picked up my car from them. Any ideas why it’s lighting up and then going away?

I would head back to discount tire. I'm not saying they broke the sensor when they worked on the tire, but it's possible. They could also see what the battery life looks like on all of your sensors. If you have the oem tmps and a 2012 civic, that's essentially 10 years that the batteries have lasted.

even dealers can break sensors
