Vacation Thread

Sometimes I enjoy the commute cause it gives me time to myself, which I don't get a lot of since I have two small kids, but I am a homebody and just enjoy being at home

Plus, I could have an awesome garage/office space and could work on my car while I work
Kids.... Eeeeek just kidding.

I do enjoy being at home relaxing, gaming, YouTube, forums but I don't want to be stuck at home 24/7 (work, personal, ect).

Speaking of space... That's another thing about if I had to WFH. I don't have a ton of space in our house. I don't want to take down my gaming PC setup nor work on my work laptop on the kitchen table. But I could adapt if need be.
I couldn’t work from home. I’ve been in and out of homes every day since this crap started. Tuesday’s and Saturday’s I’m out of state which is a nice break from the norm.
Where ya going?

With the job I could get (if I get the raise/job offer) it would be really relaxed and low stress. Morning Skype meetings and then writing collision estimates the rest of the 8hr work day. I think there is a quota of 20 estimates a day and a typical one takes about 15-20 minutes to write so it would be doable. That and I have a honey-do list about as tall as I am and I'm 6'4" :rotfl:

I’m in Michigan and Indiana those days for work. So relaxing.

I think I’m taking a trip to NOLA at the end of April. Real limited with where I go because I’d have to quarantine before coming back to work if visiting a hot zone.
Oh dang. Yeah not worth going somewhere if you have to quarantine. You get paid if you have to quarantine?

I'm going to have to post up some photos of my trip to Mexico Beach, FL when I get a chance

The weather was absolutely amazing and I'm missing it already

Oh when did you go there? I heard Florida (I guess Southern FL - Miami and such) has been crazy with Spring Breakers.

I was there the first week of March and it was quiet. There are little places that no one really knows about that you can go during the summer or spring break months (i.e peak season) and it'll be a ghost town. Mexico Beach and Port St. Joe are good choices but they are in the panhandle of Florida so it'll have a small town feel

Yeah I've never been to the panhandle. My buddy used to live in Destin. He moved back to Sarasota I believe.

Nope. No pay.
Yeah.. **** that. Definitely not worth going to them hotzones then.

Destin is a cool place! I used to go to a car meet out there that was HUGE!!

Every tuesday about 50-100 cars would come out
Damn! I never been to that part of FL.

I've been to Tampa/Sarasota areas. I think we stayed in Apollo Beach when some of my buddies and I went down for baseball spring training a few years back.

So has anyone started traveling again yet? Planning to soon?

I DON'T CARE IF I DIE MID FLIGHT, I'M GOING TO TOKYO IN FLAMING WRECKAGE

I don't have a rescheduled date, though. Probably early next year.

I went to Tampa years and years ago to watch Tampa Bay Mutiny play. I think we went to the zoo out there too

Wife and I were supposed to go to Clearwater Beach, FL last May for our anniversary but of course that was cancelled.

I still have $512.92 in Southwest Travel funds.

$286.96 - Trip to Sarasota, Florida that got cancelled in 2019 due to Hurricane
$225.96 - Trip to Clearwatch Beach, Florida that got cancelled in 2020 due to COVID

I want to make a trip out to Utah or Colorado some time soon. I want to see more of the country

Got invited to a friends wedding in the UK next year, trying to arrange that at the moment

I've been to Vegas once (actually turned 21 in Vegas). But I was with my grandfather as it was his retirement gift from my grandmother. We only stayed inside the casinos lol. I actually won $2000 on a slot machine before I turned 21 and he had to cash it out lol

So technically Vegas is the furthest west I've been but I have family in South Dakota and I've been there a few times. I'd like to do a Midwest/West Coast trip.

UK.... I have no desire to go over there personally.

Vegas was a cool place! I was 17 or 18 when I went so I couldn't really do anything other than sight see

UK would be fun just to visit my family that I never get to see and to go watch my favorite soccer team play. I'm trying to make it to where my whole family can go and we can do one big trip out of it

I like the warmer weather and beaches too so those places entice me more so.

Jamaica x2
St. Lucia
Mexico
Dominican Republic x2

Those are the places out of the country I've been.
