I bet you are busy during this time of the year. Tax accountant? Not sure if there are "general" accountants or specific areas.

Yep there are a few very specific spots for us. I was a tax accountant for a while, but now I work as a senior retail accountant for a fairly large refining/gas station company known down here as "Mapco" I enjoy it, and nowhere near as stressful as doing public accounting either

There are tons of different jobs roles in the accounting world. Some of them are very specialized. Some of them are very broad.

Pro Tip: Unless an accountant/CPA specifically says they are a tax accountant/preparer, they probably hate doing taxes.

:1: For cool jobs. I am an accountant, and this is the look I always get when people find out im not bland and boring :eek::eek::eek::eek:

Or people always ask you if you can do their taxes....sh* t gets old quick!

I always get a weird look when I say I do a different type of accounting.

See my Pro Tip above! I hate doing taxes. I hate reading tax code even more. Once I finish the CPA exams and get licensed, I have a feeling my response to people when they ask what I do will be be "I am a CPA, no I don't do taxes."

Pretty much every accountant I know uses Turbo Tax to do their taxes...even if they prepare taxes for a living.

Oh every year around this time, calls start rolling in from various friends and this year I have finally learned to tell people no

I always say....."I don't to Tax Acct, I do property management accounting.....talk to my lady at HR Block."

Not really much of a picture that i can post but I am a Bilingual (english & spanish) Customer Care Representative for Pepco Holdings Inc. I technically work in Carney's Point NJ but we cover both Atlantic City Electric and Delmarva Power

Still doing construction management...

I don't work much in the office mainly outside. I primarly work with surface and subsurface infrastructure but I do a lot of concrete testing thou, since I am certified in it..
