you watch people dance, or you do the dancing?
Other than the person that anointed me with the nick, you may be the first person in 16 years to get the reference.
Had an idea for an interesting thread. Post pics up of what you do at work. I'm a retail technician (official job title is customer engineer II), meaning I fix any technology used in a retail store and a few restaurants. Me personally I also run networking calls for my company as I'm Cisco fundemental certified. A few days ago I had a tractor replacement on a genicom printer.
Being a retail tech I work on a myriad of products. I work for NCR, but I work on all products, IBM, Toshiba, Radiant, Motorola (symbol), Epson, Lexmark, Genicom, Printronix, etc are the most popular ones but I could list hundreds. This is one of "our" products, can anyone guess what it is? Btw, this "pilot" software has a ton of bugs and is just junk. View attachment 7851
To be honest we rarely get BSOD's. If we do its usually bad memory. We can't use Linux mainly because its open source and there are a ton of laws and regulations when dealing with money and banks. The problems we are mainly having with this new software is mainly communicating with the devices. Our scripts are breaking com port assignments.Yeah, I've seen the "windows" screen whenever the machine goes BSOD and store clerk have to reboot it. lol. Not good for POS (it's really POS!). You'd think by now they would use linux.
